Truck and SUV Forged Wheel Planning
Truck and SUV wheels need to suit the job as well as the stance. A roadgoing luxury SUV, a tow vehicle and an overland truck can require very different specifications.
Describe the duty cycle
Include the exact year, model, trim and rear-wheel configuration. Explain whether the vehicle will be used primarily on the road, for towing, with regular payload or on rough terrain. Add suspension lift or lowering details, alignment changes and any planned spacers.
A build photo cannot establish suitability for a different use case. Tell the team about trailer hitch load, cargo and overland equipment as part of the load-capability review. Vehicle towing and payload limits remain the manufacturer’s limits.
Large tires require a full clearance review
Clearance involves more than keeping the tire inside the fender in a parked photograph. Review steering lock, suspension compression, the control arms, brake components and bodywork with the selected tire. An aggressive offset can move the tire outward while changing the relationship to suspension and steering geometry.
Confirm the tire manufacturer’s approved rim-width range and application requirements. A nominal tire size alone does not fully describe its section width or the space it needs on the chosen wheel. Use the fitment guide to prepare the measurements.
Single and dual rear wheels
Dual-rear-wheel configurations need a dedicated review of mounting arrangement, dual spacing and the wheel-and-tire package. A single-rear-wheel recommendation should not be carried over to a dually because the wheel has the same diameter or bolt count.
Share the vehicle’s axle ratings and current hardware details. Request capacity and fitment confirmation for the specific configuration. Do not assume one published wheel load value covers all offsets, widths and rear-wheel arrangements.
Choose a design family
Browse the Truck/SUV collection for designs including Longhorn and Lonestar, and explore the Offroad collection where relevant. Final application suitability is reviewed with the build team. Compare finishes and bead-knurling options after the core configuration is established.
