Forged Wheels for EVs
An electric-vehicle wheel build deserves more than an attractive diameter. Review the exact vehicle variant, its axle requirements, the complete tire package and the way you use the car.
Plan around the complete vehicle
Start with the year, model and variant rather than “Tesla” or “EV” alone. Share the factory wheel and tire setup, suspension changes and brake package. Include the front and rear axle ratings for a configuration-specific load review.
Changing wheel size also changes the tire choices available. Review tire load index, approved rim width and the vehicle manufacturer’s size and inflation requirements. Tire sidewall, wheel width and offset must leave adequate clearance throughout steering and suspension movement.
Range is a system question
Wheel mass is only one part of the wheel-and-tire package. Tire characteristics, dimensions, aerodynamic shape, driving conditions and vehicle setup can affect efficiency. A different forged wheel should not be sold as a guaranteed range increase without testing the actual combination.
Tell the team whether you prioritize appearance, ride comfort, efficiency or a performance tire selection. That makes the tradeoffs clearer than choosing a diameter in isolation. Compare the planned package with the original setup before finalizing it.
AWD, staggered tires and electronic systems
When front and rear sizes differ, review the tire manufacturer’s rolling-circumference data and the vehicle manufacturer’s compatibility requirements. Matching the printed wheel diameter alone does not settle front-to-rear compatibility. Confirm TPMS hardware and any vehicle settings required after a wheel or tire change.
The Wheel Fitment Guide covers staggered setups, brake clearance and center bore. Our Tesla Model S fitment guide provides a more focused planning checklist.
Use real builds as references
The photographed 2022 Model S Plaid on BE2-C10V is a visual reference for a specific build. Its presence in the gallery does not establish compatibility for every Model S year or variant. Explore the BE2-C10V design page and Monoblock collection, then ask for a review of your own vehicle.
